The following procedure shall be used to make a new release:

Make the release:
- check in all tested changes
- update ChangeLog
- update RELNOTES
  Changes since last version
  General Overview
- $ make dist
- verify building on the supported plattforms (SF compile farm)
  - FreeBSD
  - OpenBSD
  - SunOS
  - Mac OS
- $ make dist
- calculate MD5 checksum & GPG
- update RELNOTES
- check in outstanding changes
- create CVS tag (e.g. $ cvs rtag rel_0_5_7 siproxd)
- publish on SF.net

Open new working release:
- change version number in configure.in
- ChangeLog
- RELNOTES
